This score is quite balanced. Which means that either I have a very well balanced profile or I did not answer sincerely enough to make some specefic trait of my personnality appear. I would choose the second explanation. I seem to be on the average except in two sections. The test indicates I tend to minimize risk taking which is quite true. I prefer addressing a project in the light of what would be the risk if I fail rather than what would be the benefit. However, I develop some qualities that also seem to be relevant qualities for an entrepreneur, to my mind. The need for autonomy and achievement is essential for somebody who is running a business by his own.

Talent Management

Now Rather than make a long and probably boring essay about what are the qualities of a good entrepreneur for me, I prefer to be short but to the point. An entrepreneur should have all these qualities:

  • Confident
  • Risk taker
  • Hard working
  • Creative
  • Flexible
  • Busy, time consuming, long hours
  • Dedication
  • Effort
  • Believer
  • Enjoys what he/she does
  • Driven, has a reason
  • Great sacrifices
  • Passion/love for what they do
  • Committed
  • Never quits
  • Doesn't know how to relax
  • Impersonal, task oriented
  • Doesn't stay within the lines the company sets
  • Unorganized
  • C or D student, has their own ideas
  • Visionary
  • Courageous
  • Headstrong/stubborn
  • Idealistic
  • Self-motivated
  • Innovative
  • Problem solvers
  • Won't take no for an answer
  • Stressful
  • Able to overcome challenges/negatives
  • Jack of all trades, good at a lot of things
  • Perfectionist
  • Knows where he/she is going and where he wants to be.

A helpful website for a young entrepreneur who wants to start running its own business: **http://www.nbia.org/** which is the National Business Incubation Association. This website is aimed to provide essential information about the business environment in which you are going to enter and also to find contact with investors and potential partners

This picture is probably the most famous picture that describes metaphorically a young entrepreneur. Everyone has the potentiality to grow and become a successful entrepreneur as soon as he has the sufficient motivation and he manages to identify its main strenghts and weaknesses that fits with the sector he is the more likely to be successful in. Everyone is a promising shoot. The question is where will I find the right ground to make it grow.

My business idea

www.thecarUare.com is a totally independent website. It addresses all those who consider their car not as a simple tool but as an expression of their personality. Many people all over the world want their car to be the representation of the lifestyle they embrace. They love their car for what it symbolizes: a country style, a political belief, a hope.
On one hand, we work with communities of people who recognized themselves in a particular car. They are our “contributors”. They build up pages on our website about their favorite car adding data and photos. As on Wikipedia, every one can complete the description of cars. But their contribution is much more than just co-developing a simple blog. We give them the opportunity to discuss about the future of their fetish car. We believe that car fans have the capacity of understanding what has made a car so popular. Some would like their object of worship to keep existing or even resuscitating. Consequently, they also have their own idea of how the concept of this car could be successful again in the new global business context. We are precisely here to make these ideas emerge through forums and debates.
On the other hand, we work with car makers or marketing agencies as partners. Our role is to transmit them new ideas which would have staid “silent” without our action. That means we are a “crowdsourcing company”.

Our website is a sharing data platform. First, we offer to our contributor a space where they can share and mutually correct information about the characteristics of their favorite car in order to build an as exhaustive as possible article. Then, we give our contributors the opportunity to debate on forums about how they foresee the way their favorite car could be technologically improved, redesigned or remarketed. Thus engineers, designers and marketers can share their skills to work for free on a common project with a common passion. In other words we do not use crowd sourcing, we are crowd sourcing.

Twitter plays a very important role in our project. Technically, each contributor has the entire right to submit his ideas. Other contributors can vote according to the relevancy of ideas. As soon as an idea reaches 100 votes, it is posted on Twitter so that every contributor would be able to get aware of it and react quickly. Moreover, thanks to the follower/following application, it becomes possible to reveal most prolific contributors.

Fans can only post a limited number of photos on our website. On Flickr, they are able to share many photos of their favorite car. We have different categories: historical photos, funny photos, photos of travels. In this way, fans can meet each other and strengthen their feeling of belonging to a real community. We also add the category of car concepts. This latest category is the most interesting one. Designers can post their drawing, their videos or even post a three-dimensions view of their model on it. Anyone can make comments about technical confines that could help correcting lines on the sharing-model. Anyone can imagine other lines so that the model is always developing. Here is conserved the system of vote to highlight most relevant or original ideas. Some of the contributors actively participates in the elaboration of the model, others just give their advice but they also participate to the effort of creation.

5 core competences which I think to be highly relevant for my business idea:
- webmastering and webdesigning skills --> to run the platform successfully
- web marketing technical skills --> to promote the website through the internet.
- knowledge about automobile fans communities --> to reach potential contributors and get them involved.to lead forums.
- sales and interpersonal skills --> to convince car makers to invest in the business which could raise interesting ideas, remarks and special desires.
- public relations abilities --> to make the website well-known in the automobile industry and to foster good relationship with contributors and clients.

2 more competences from the dictionnary that could also be useful:
- skills about contracts --> to determine precisely the terms of trade with car makers because intellectual property is always a tricky legal issue.
- database administration skills --> to manage the large number of information on each car forum. ex: contributors and all their characteristics (technical knowledge, old remarks, numbers of positive rates...), articles, pictures, twitter spaces.
